VALLEYLIFE is a non-profit organization that provides programs and services to men, women, and children with developmental disabilities.

VALLEYLIFE is currently searching for a Program Manager for our Residential Services department. Program Manager job duties include supervising several group homes in the North Central Phoenix area. Program Managers also must be able to monitor and record individual members progress using our electronic recordkeeping system.

Qualified candidates will have previous Group Home experience as well as a minimum of 2 years supervising exempt level staff and extensive knowledge of DDD. Position may, at times, include evenings and weekends. Flexibility is a must!

Position Responsibilities

  1. Oversees the development and implementation of Group Home programs, program data and monitors progress. Ensures all objectives and strategies are written to include required components.
  2. Ensures that the needs of the individuals being served are provided a homelike, safe, clean environment maintained in the group homes and that all licensing standards, health policies and procedures are followed.
  3. Supervises and appraises staff and ensures Direct Support Professional Supervisors are trained and follow VALLEYLIFE Policy and Procedures.
  4. Conducts and participates in departmental meetings, interdepartmental meetings and other committees as required and in-service training sessions as required.
  5. Maintains accurate records and paperwork as required.
  6. Participates in the intake screening process on all client referrals.
  7. Maintains thorough understanding of all licensing, regulatory and contractual requirements and ensures compliance.
  8. Coordinates and ensures yearly fire inspections are scheduled and completed.
  9. Schedules, coordinates inspections to ensure renewal of licensing of each group home every 2 years.
  10. Oversees, at the time of inspection that VALLEYLIFE homes are in compliance with licensing and fire inspections. Should any corrections be required for any items not in compliance, will oversee corrections in a timely manner.
  11. Act as liaison between employees and supervisors when needed as well as with families, DTAs, medical personnel and government agencies.
  12. Keep good open communication between group home supervisors, DTA and any other department.
  13. Fulfills all responsibilities of behavior management programs, including program development, PRC presentations, and all monitoring requirements.
  14. On call 24/7 to meet the needs of the group home and department.
  15. Hires, directs and evaluates work performance for all individuals supervised. Forwards staffing changes to appropriate areas to ensure schedule, payroll is correct.
  16. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Extensive knowledge of the field of service for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  2. Ability to effectively supervise staff and maintain successful working relationships.
  3. Ability to plan, organize and carry out program objectives.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both written and verbally.
  5. Ability to lift forty (40) pounds.

Requirements

  1. A.A. Degree or 2 years (60 credits) college with emphasis on special education, psychology or closely related field is preferred.
  2. Two years supervisory experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
